Online Access to Health Information for Minor Children
To view another person's health information through MySparrow is called proxy access. Parents or legal guardians can request proxy access to view MySparrow information. Only parents and legal guardians are eligible for proxy access; other family members such as aunts, uncles, and grandparents are not eligible unless they are also legal guardians.
Once granted access, parents or legal guardians must have their own MySparrow account, or one will be created for them to get proxy access. Proxy access gives full access to available health information and functionality within MySparrow, such as ordering a COVID-19 test, viewing test results, sending secure messages to the doctor’s office, and making appointment requests.
To get access to your child’s health information:
- Children ages 12-17 must create their own MySparrow account and give permission through the access request form. The form is located under the ‘Sharing' tab and through the link called ‘Grant Parent Access.’
- Children ages 11 and under will have their parent or legal guardian fill out the minor request form via MySparrow. The form is located under the ‘Sharing' tab and through the link called ‘Minor Access Request.’

Viewing Test Results
- Sign up or log in to your MySparrow account to view your test results. You will be notified as soon as your results are ready.

Please note that UM Health-Sparrow bills insurances so the out of pocket cost is dependent on insurance/copay. Uninsured patient services are discounted 75%.
