The Geriatric Inpatient Psychiatry Unit is a 23 bed unit that provides
evaluation and treatment of psychiatrically ill patients, generally over 60
years of age. The experienced staff is led by Board Certified Geriatric Psychiatrists. The
program provides holistic, comprehensive evaluations and treatment based
on individual needs. We manage the entire spectrum of illnesses that affect
this population. Internal Medicine and other specialists are available to address
individuals' medical needs. Our length of stay is short. We attempt to keep the
number of medications to a minimum to ensure that medical needs are addressed,
and that the person's quality of life is maximized.
Referrals can come from individuals, primary care or specialty physicians, adult
foster care homes, nursing homes, extended care facilities, senior citizen centers
