The Intravenous Specialty Infusion Center is located on the first floor of the Sparrow Professional Building in the Diagnostic Center.

Mission
To provide quality, compassionate, cost effective intravenous therapy services to non-homebound patients of the mid-Michigan area.
Operating Procedures
All non-homebound patients may be directed to the Intravenous Specialty Infusion Center for therapy. Patients are cared for by scheduled appointments 365 days per year.
Any Sparrow Health System physician may fax in orders for treatment along with a brief history and physical, including a list of current medications.
The Intravenous Specialty Infusion Center also works collaboratively with the Wound Center to provide IV antibiotics for wound patients.
Services Provided
- Administration of intravenous medications such as anti-infective medications, lgG, solumedrol, and other specialty medications
- Administration of blood and blood component therapy
- Administration of hydration and antiemetics
- Administration of Chemotherapy for oncologic and non-oncologic indications
- Placement and replacement of temporary venous access devices such as short peripheral catheters, midlines, and PICC lines
- Repair of tunneled permanent central venous access devices
- Maintenance of implanted venous access devices (port flushing)
