Electronic/On-line Research Submissions via IRBNet

The Office of Research Oversight and Compliance (or "IRB Office") is pleased to announce the adoption of the industry leading IRBNet suite of tools, bringing electronic protocol management, on-line submissions and many other important features to the Sparrow Health System research community.

Sparrow Health System IRB will only accept electronic protocol submissions via IRBNet (www.irbnet.org).

If you have not yet registered on IRBNet, we ask that you use your first initial and last name as your Username. We recommend that you change your password after initial registration and every 90 days thereafter, by simply clicking on USER PROFILE (in the top right hand corner). Be sure to logout after each session.

For Investigators: when initially registering on IRBNet (or sharing your study information with a collaborator) identify "Sparrow Health System, Lansing, MI" as your location. Only select "Sparrow Health System IRB" when submitting your study documents.

Steps To Do BEFORE You Begin Using IRBNet:

Tips for Utilizing a Non-Sparrow Computer to Access IRBNet:

• It is recommended for general security purposes that you have on your computer Internet access, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
• It is also recommended that an anti-virus software be configured and updated at least weekly, a personal firewall be installed, and frequent installation of operating system and application patches to address security vulnerabilities. The Sparrow Health System Information Services Security Administration office (517.364.6527) can assist with information or training to meet these recommendations.
