Published: March 6, 2024

ST. JOHNS, MI – A Sparrow Clinton Hospital surgical services nurse has been honored with the DAISY Award after a patient cited her incredibly compassionate care.

Surgical Services nurse Brittany Hagerman, R.N., was among 23 nominations for the award.  According to the nomination, Hagerman has been the patient’s nurse on two separate occasions. “Her kindness, compassion, professionalism and sense of humor have continually made such a difference in the care provided,” the nomination said.

“Brittany’s strengths lie within her ability to put patients and families at ease. She is excellent clinically, and patients expect you to be that clinical expert. However, making them feel at ease, lessening their fears ... that is priceless, and Brittany does it with every patient,” said Lea Curtiss, surgical services manager, Sparrow Clinton Hospital.
